Maya Tahan joined the Shocker women's tennis staff as an assistant coach in July of 2024.
A native of Tel Mond, Israel, Tahan joins the Shocker staff after a five-year playing career between the University of Miami and LSU.

In her first four years playing at Miami, she posted a singles record of 61-39 and a doubles record of 51-42, and was a consistent staple in the lineup each year. She qualified for the NCAA Doubles Championship with partner Diana Khodon in 2021.

In her lone season as a Tiger in 2023-24, Tahan went 11-6 in singles and 13-8 in doubles, playing at lines four and five singles and two and three doubles. Her season was highlighted by a 6-1 victory with partner Gaby Rivera over Georgia’s No. 49 ranked Guillermina Grant and Mai Nirundorn on April 19 in the quarterfinals of the SEC Women’s Tennis Championship. She also earned two victories on May 8 in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship against Baylor, winning 6-2 at court two doubles, and earned a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory at line four singles in the Tigers 4-3 win over the Bears.
