As a Freshman...Finished the season with a stroke average of 87. In the spring played in one tournament for the Shockers...Shot a 79 in the third round of the Rio Verde Invitational. In the fall, played in four tournaments for Wichita State...Finished tied for 64th at the first tournament of the season, the Chip-N Club Invitational, with a 54-hole score of 255...Shot her season low of 78 in the second round of the Johnnie Imes Invitational on her way to her low 54-hole score of 252 (86-78-88).
Before she was a Shocker...Played for
Colombia's junior team in 2008 and 2009...Won the the US Girls Qualifier in 2010...was the winner of the 2010
San Andres International Girls Juniors Tournament.
Personal...Veronica Diaz was born on August 12, 1993 in Bucaramanga, Colombia...Daughter of Gonzalo and Natalia Diaz...One sister, Valentina...Plans to major in International Business at WSU...Chose WSU for their business school and the golf program.
