Before she was a Shocker...Played at Clear Lake High School for coach Karolyn Criado and lettered in golf all four years...Lauren claimed the 2007 Texas 5A Individual State Championship with rounds of 69 and 70, the fourth lowest total in tournament history...Led the Falcons to a state team championship in 2007...She recorded multiple wins and top-three finishes playing on the Texas Junior Golf Tour...Finished second at the Texas/Oklahoma Junior Championship as a 16 year old in 2005.
Personal...Lauren Renee’ Hassell was born March 15, 1989...Daughter of William and Debora Hassell...Lauren is majoring in business marketing, and hopes to work as a sales representative, but only if she doesn’t make it as a professional golfer first...favorite pro golfer is Tom Watson...She chose Wichita State because it’s an NCAA Division 1 school that is appealing to student-athletes. “I really liked the conditioning program and the golf courses we get to play!”
