Biography

As a Senior...Played in all five fall tournaments for the Shocks...Led the team in stroke average with a 77.53...Finished in the top-10 twice during the fall seasom...Carded a 230 (77-75-78) at the Chip-N-Club Invitational to finish in a tie for ninth...Shot the best score of her Shocker career, a 225 (76-73-76) at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial to finish in a tie for fifth

As a Junior...Finished the season with a stroke average of 78.6. Finished in a tie of 27th at the MVC Championships. In the spring, played in all five tournaments for the Shockers...Had her best finish of the year at the Del Monte Invitational, shooting a 226 (77-74-75) and finished in a tie for fourth...Shot her season low round of 72 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. In the fall, Martin played in all five tournaments for Wichita State...Finished tied for 14th at the Fighting Camel Classic with a 54-hole score of 235 (81-74-80)...At the Hoosier Invitational, she carded a 54-hole score of 234 (74-82-78) to finish tied for 26th.

As a Sophomore...Finished fifth on the team with a 79.96 stroke average for the season and shot 12 rounds in the 70s...Placed 17th at the MVC Tournament with a 36-hole score of 157 (82-75)...finished 12th at the WSU Spring Invitational with a 36-hole score of 157 (81-76)...In the fall, Hannah took 19th place at the Shocker Invitational with her 36-hole score of 158 (80-78).

As a Freshman...Finished fourth on the team with a stroke average of 79.72...shot her low score of 73 twice (3rd round Chip-N-Club Invitational and 3rd round UALR Golf Classic)...finished tied for 13th at the Shocker Invitational 166 (80-86)...shot her low 54-hole score of 226 (78-75-73) at the Chip-N-Club Invitational hosted by Nebraska...finished tied for 25th at the MVC Tournament with a 54-hole score of 241 (80-81-80).

Before she was a Shocker…Lettered all four years, playing her freshman year for Steve Ewing at Salina Central and finishing under Dan Smith at Salina South…Led her team to back-to-back league championships her junior and senior years, which ended in two top-10 finishes at the state championship…First Team Division I-Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League all four years of High School...Individual Medalist at the Division I-Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Tournament in 2006 & 2008 with a T-first in 2007, leading the Lady Cougars to back to back League and Regional Team Championships in 2007 and 2008...Qualified for the Kansas High School state tournament all four years with a  a fifth place finish in '07 and runner up in '08...Finished in the top 10 or better in all but one regular season tournament in the entirety of her high school career…Won Regional Tournament in both her junior and senior years and never finished a Regional lower than fifth place…Logged six first place finishes and one T-first finish during her senior season…Competed in the Kansas Women’s Golf Association, the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour, the Texas Junior Golf Tour and the American Junior Golf Association and the KJGA Tour when she was younger…Competed with partner and 2008 British Open champion Bruce Vaughn to finish T-seventh at the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach in August 2008…Honored as a 2009 National First Tee Scholar...Three time Optimist International qualifier, and a member of the '09 KWGA Four State Team.  Received the Salina South-U.S. Marine Corps "Most Distinguished Athlete" Award in May, 2009.   Voted 2009 CatchitKansas.com "Girls Golfer of the Year"...

Personal…Hannah Jacquelyn Virginia Martin was born July 12, 1991…Daughter of Bary and Sherry Martin and big sister to Matthew…Majoring in Sport Management/Communications at WSU to prepare her for her desired career as a Media Relations Director for ESPN…Two time Academic Letter award in Journalism...She chose Wichita State because of its proximity to her hometown and family, "its a great business and journalism school" and for her ability to fit in well with her coaches and teammates.
