Brooke Costley

Wichita State head women's basketball coach Terry Nooner named Brooke Costley an assistant coach in April 2023.

Costley got her coaching start at Emporia State after completing her playing career for the Hornets.

A native of Mexico, Mo., Costley recently completed a stint as an assistant coach for Texas A&M Commerce. Costley was instrumental in the Lions’ first season as a Division I program, helping TAMUC advance to the semifinal of the Southland Conference Tournament in 2022-23.
 
In her time at TAMUC, Costley played a large role in the development of DesiRay Kernal who earned Second Team All-Southland Conference honors and landed on the Southland All-Tournament team after leading the Lions in assists and being second in scoring and rebounding.
 
Prior to arriving at Commerce, Costley spent three seasons North Dakota State where she helped the Bison advance to the Semifinal of the Summit League Tournament two times. In just three seasons at NDSU, Costley coached a total of five all-conference honorees as well as three Summit All-Academic Team selections.
 
Costley began her coaching career at her alma mater, Emporia State where she spent a total of six seasons. She spent two seasons as a graduate assistant, two years as a student assistant and two years as a student-athlete.
 
In six seasons, she was part of four MIAA Tournament Championship teams at Emporia State and five teams that played in the NCAA Tournament. The Hornets advanced to the Sweet 16 four times, including a trip to the National Semifinals at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 2014-15, falling to eventual national champion, California (Pa.) by five points.
 
While in Missouri, she also served as a coach in the Missouri Phenom AAU program for two seasons.
 
Costley received her bachelor’s degree in health promotion and health and wellness from Emporia State in 2017.
