2013 (JUNIOR): INDOOR- Redshirted OUTDOOR- Redshirted
Hutchinson Community College: Named an Indoor All American at 1000m and the Distance Medley twice. Helped his team to the Jayhawk West Conference Championship. Participated on a team that finished 9th at the National Indoor Championships.
Wichita Southeast High School: Earned All-City honors 9 times in Track. Achieved the same feat at the regional level on 8 occasions. Named All-State in Track 6 times. Earned All-City and All-Regional honors twice in Cross Country.
Personal: Son of Joe and Diane Gutierrez. Joe ran Cross Country and Track for Wichita State. Skylar has a younger sister, Taylor.
