Ryne Stefankiewicz

Ryne Stefankiewicz enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Wichita State softball team.

As the pitching coach, Stefankiewicz coached First-Team All-Conference selection Bailey Lange in her first season in the American Athletic Conference culminating in the second ever NCAA Regional appearance in school history. Lange led The American in looking strikeouts and finished second in total strikeouts en-route to becoming the sixth pitcher to earn all-conference honors in school history. Her 20 wins ranked seventh in a single season at WSU with her six saves ranking her third all-time (single season).

During Stefankiewicz's second season with the Shockers, Wichita State led the Missouri Valley Conference in team earned-run average with a 2.07 conference ERA. Shocker ace Katie Malone earned First-Team All-Conference honors, the first pitcher to do so since 2008 and only the fifth in school history. Malone also set a Wichita State record for wins in a season with 26.

During his first season with Wichita State, the Shockers won both the regular season MVC Championship and Tournament Championship earning the school's first NCAA Regional appearance since 2005. In the Norman Regional, the Shockers won their first NCAA tournament game in school history - a 2-1 victory over Tulsa. Shocker pitcher Jenni Brooks also earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

Prior to coming to Wichita, the Omaha, Neb., native served as a graduate assistant at Auburn University under Clint Myers where he earned a Master's in Adult Education.

While at Auburn, the 2015 Tigers softball team finished the regular season in second place in the SEC and won the SEC Tournament – the school's first conference tournament title in softball. During the same season Stefankiewicz and the Tigers softball program won the Auburn Regional and Super Regional en-route to the school's first appearance at the Women's College World Series with the Tigers finishing No. 3 in the final NFCA Coaches Poll.

In January of 2013, Stefankiewicz was a pitching coach for the Echoes Elite Gold 18U team and while under the direction of Stefankiewicz, the team qualified for ASA Gold Nationals twice.

Stefankiewicz attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln starting in 2012 where he received his bachelor's of journalism in news-editorial.
