Laurie Derrico begins her second season on staff as the director of operations for the Wichita State softball program.
A Shocker standout at shortstop, Derrico was a four-year letterwinner and three-time All-Conference selection. She finished her career tied for the most home runs in school history (39).
A Sterling, Okla. native, Derrico was twice named to the American Athletic Conference First Team and the All-MVC Second Team in the program's final season of the Missouri Valley Conference. She started every game for the Shockers for the past three seasons and has her name on the career charts in several categories: slugging percentage (5th, .553), doubles (6th, 38), runs scored (T-6th, 136), RBI (2nd, 141), total bases (4th, 338) and assists (4th, 461).
Derrico received her bachelor's degree in exercise science in May 2019.
