Garrett Bayliff was named an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Wichita State in September 2019. He was then promoted to Associate Head of Strength & Conditioning/Director of Health & Wellness in October 2021.
Bayliff oversees the execution and expansion of nutrition and recovery programs for the Shockers and also facilitates the opportunity for student-athletes to work with athlete mental health coordinator Dr. Brianna Ward.
A former Wichita State baseball student-athlete from 2009-14, Bayliff returns to Wichita after spending the last year as the director of strength and conditioning at Ponca City High School. Prior to Ponca City, he obtained his master's degree from Oklahoma State University where he was a graduate assistant. While at OSU, Bayliff assisted with the football, baseball, wrestling and track and field programs.
During his time as a Shocker baseball player, he earned Second Team All-MVC honors and was named the 2013 MVC Conference Tournament MVP. A three-time MVC Player of the Week, Bayliff also delivered in the classroom. He was a seven-time recipient of the Shocker Scholar Award and named to the AD's Honor Roll seven times as well.
