Before Wichita State: Played two seasons at Butler County [Kan.] CC under head coach Dennis Helms and spent one year at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville under head coach Brian Bibey...Averaged 21.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Panthers...A first team all-conference and first team all-region performer.

At Southeast HS: Lettered four years in track and one year each in cross country and basketball under head coach Carl Taylor...Was named honorable mention all-City League...Helped the Buffaloes with the 2003 Kansas Class 6A state championship with a blocked shot in the final seconds of a 45-42 win over Olathe South...Graduated with a 3.33 GPA and was a member of the Honor Roll.
