 About
The Wichita State University cheer team consists of a small coed and a large coed squad of approximately 20 athletes each. Shocker cheer performs at all home and postseason games for volleyball and men's and women's basketball. The team plans to compete in NCA College Nationals in Daytona, Florida, in April each year.
Program Requirements:
  • TRYOUTS: Tryouts take place each year during the spring semester.
  • GAMEDAY: Shocker cheerleaders cheers at all home and postseason volleyball and men's and women's basketball games.
  • RECOMMENDED SKILLS: 
  • Tumbling: Standing three BHS, standing tuck, running RO BHS layout, running whip pass, working fulls
  • Stunting:
    • Coed: Toss immediate lib full to feet, working elite skills to full or double downs
    • Quad: Full up full to feet, working elite skills to full or double downs

  • SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships are awarded to team members based on years of participation and leadership roles on the team. Every team member receives a scholarship.
