Wichita State Athletics

Junior (2009-10)... Started 30-of-35 games in 2009-10 after starting only one a year ago...Scored a season-high 14 points against Alcorn State and also had a career-high three blocks... Got high praise from Head Coach Gregg Marshall for his defensive effort all year...Made 14 of 24 shots (58 percent) to open the season before going 0-for-4 against North Dakota State...Had two double-figure scoring games, with 14 against Alcorn State and 10 against Fairleigh-Dickinson in the opener...Came off the bench against SIU and scored the most points (seven) since the season-high…

Sophomore (2008-09): Started one game while playing in 33 of the 34... Averaged 3.2 points and 3.5 rebounds off the bench... Had his second double-figure scoring game with a season-high 14 points against Illinois State in Wichita, making seven-of-10 shots from the field for 70 percent... Tied his career-high with nine boards against Creighton in Wichita, as well... Got the fifth start of his career and the only one in 2009-10 against Michigan State... Led WSU in rebounding two times, the nine against Creighton and six at Evansville... Named Shocker Radio Player of the Game one time.

Freshman (2007-08): Played in every game as a freshman, using the final game of the year to score a career-high 19 points in the Valley Tournament against Indiana State...Also had a career-high nine rebounds in each of the final two games of the year...Started the last two games of the year, and a total of four overall...His previous high-scoring game was seven points at Evansville...Played in all 31 of WSU's games.  

High School: Averaged 18.5 points and eight rebounds as a senior at Carolina Forrest High School prior to playing one year at Bridgton, Maine, Academy, last year...Came to WSU in late summer...Originally committed to South Carolina.

Personal: Son of Kert and Ivey Ellis...Born Aug. 31, 1987, in Landstahl, Germany...Has a brother, Mike Johnson...Also recruited by Colorado State, Wyoming and Coastal Carolina... Majoring in Ethnic Studies at WSU.
