AS A SOPHOMORE (2014)

Named to the 2014 MVC All-First Team...Named to the NFCA Division I All-Midwest Region Second Team…Named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during the Fall 2013 and the Spring 2014 semesters…Named MVC Player of the Week on April 21, 2014 and May 5, 2014…Appeared in and started all 55 games for the Shockers…Hit .358 (second on the team) with 36 runs (third one the team), eight home runs (tied for second on the team), 35 RBIs (fourth on the team), .578 slugging percentage (third on the team) and .422 on-base percentage…Had 14 doubles, tying for first on the team and tied for seventh all-time and had 100 total bases (second on the team).

AS A FRESHMAN (2013)

Named to the MVC Honor Roll…Named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters…Appeared in 46 games, starting 44…Hit .241 driving in 12 runs with 32 hits, nine doubles and a triple…Had a season-high three hits in four at-bats with two RBIs against Evansville on March 30…Drove in three runs with a double against Detroit on Feb. 22…Ranked first last season in hit by pitch (6), and second in on base percentage (.336), doubles (9) and walks (13).

HIGH SCHOOL

Played for the Northwest High School Lions in Cedar Hill, Missouri under head coach Dan Davison…Earned varsity letters in basketball (4), soccer (4), softball (3) and volleyball (1)…Earned first team All-State, All-Metro, All-District, and All-Conference.

PERSONAL

Born on March 18, 1994 in Cedar Hill, Mo. to Greg and Debra Fortner…Has three sisters Kayla, Taylor and Megan and a brother, Seth…Sister Kayla plays softball at Evansville…Majoring in Accounting.
