Outdoor – Threw at six meets … Threw the javelin and discus at the AAC Championships … Took fifth at the AAC Championships in the javelin … Had seven top-10 finishes … Threw his season best in the javelin at the Shocker Spring Invitational with a mark of 60.41m/198-2 … Threw his season best in the discus at the AAC Championships with a throw of 44.87m/147-2 to finish 15th.
2020: Indoor - Threw the shot put at five meets for the Shockers … Started his season with top-five finishes at the Shocker Prelude, WSU Invitational and Air Force Team Challenge … Threw a season-best mark of 14.89m/48-10.25 at the Air Force Team Challenge … Also threw at the Arkansas Qualifier and AAC Championships.Â

2019: Indoor - Entered six meets...Placed third in the shot put at the Shocker Prelude with a mark of 13.92m/45-8...Finished seventh at the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular with a season best weight throw of 14.98m/49-1.75...Recorded a personal best shot put mark of 14.44m/47-4.5 on Feb. 8 at the Fourth Annual Gorilla Classic.
Outdoor - Threw in eight different meets...Opened the season finishing fourth in the Herm Wilson Invitational javelin with a toss of 60.72m/199-2...Placed second in the javelin at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational (60.06m/197-0) and K.T. Woodman Classic (61.29m/201-1), also recorded a personal best discus mark (45.22m/148-4) finishing fifth at the K.T. Woodman Classic...Set a personal best javelin mark winning the Shocker Open with a throw of 62.09m/203-8...Earned all-conference honors finishing second in javelin at the American Athletic Conference Championships with a mark of 60.18m/197-5...Made his first NCAA West Regional appearance finishing 47th in javelin (54.63m/179-3).
2018: Indoor - Set a personal best 14.41m/47-3.5 to place third in the shot put at the Shocker Prelude...Finished fourth with a personal best 15.10m/49-6.5 in the weight throw at the Herm Wilson Invitational...Finished 19th at The American Athletic Conference Championships with a mark of 13.47m/44-2.5 in the shot put.
Outdoor - Competed in eight meets, setting a personal best in three different events...Recorded two second place finishes at the K.T. Woodman Classic in the shot put (13.68m/44-10.75) and discus (38.99m/127-11)...Set a personal best in the javelin (62.03m/203-6) finishing ninth at The American Athletic Conference Championships.
2017: Redshirted and competed unattached.
Indoor – Placed third in the shot put (43-7 3/4) at the Wichita State Herm Wilson Invitational.
Outdoor – Placed fifth in the discus throw (141-8) and eighth in the shot put (43-9 3/4) at the Friends Invitational…Finished fourth at the KT Woodman classic in the javelin with a throw of 185-4…Placed second in the discus throw (133-0) and fourth in the javelin (181-6) at the Shocker Open.

High School: Won the Class 4A javelin in 2015 and was runner-up in 2016… Also had the No. 1 javelin throw in 2015… Helped his track and field team to three-straight state championships and a runner-up finish, respectively… Was also All-American in the javelin in high school… High School Personal Bests - Shot Put 55-9.5, Discus 178-2, Javelin 226-2… Lettered four years in track and field… Also lettered three in football and three in basketball, earning all-state honors in basketball and football.
Personal: Son of Steve and Jeanne Ast… Is the youngest of two siblings, a brother, Chris and a sister, Jill… Also recruited by Western Illinois and Missouri Western.
