Biography

As a Junior...Finished the season with a 22-10 overall singles record with a 7-1 MVC record...Led Klara Vyskocilova of #15 Clemson, 6-2, 2-3 when the match was decided in the first round of the NCAA tournament...Won her first four singles matches of the spring....Won seven straight matches before she was defeated by Jessica Kunzelmann of Northern Iowa, 3-6, 1-6...Posted a 16-4 doubles record with Carla Venticinque...In the fall, she was knocked off by last minute replacement C.C. Sardinha of Oklahoma State 6-0, 7-5 in the 'B' flight consolation championship of the Sooner Invitational... Veronika Blaskova and Delia were defeated by Alison Ramos/Valeria Pulido, 9-7 of USC in the second round of the doubles qualifying round of the 2010 All-Americans... Damaschin knocked off Dora Kotsiou of Evansville 6-2, 6-2 in Flight 2 to capture a MVC Individual Championship...Damaschin and Valerie Brockman defeated Krissy Lankelma and Stefannia Sampaio of Northern Iowa 8-6 in flight 2 to capture a MVC Doubles championship.

As a Sophomore...Posted a 23-9 singles record and 10-16 doubles record with a perfect 7-0 singles conference record..No. 4 on the MVC All-Conference singles team...named to the Missouri Valley All-Conference team for doubles with Stephanie Dalmacio at the No. 2 position...finished the season ranked #55 by the ITA in doubles with Dalmacio.

At Arkansas (Freshman)... At the University of Arkansas, Damaschin posted a 6-5 (0-1 SEC) overall record in the 2008 spring season...In the fall, Delia had no problem adjusting to the intensity of college tennis as she competed in 25 matches, second most on the team, with a 19-6 recording...Damaschin picked up a big victory over Rachel Cox of Oklahoma, 6-1, 6-0, in the ITA Central Region Playoff pusing the Razorbacks to a 4-0 sweep over the Sooners.

Before Arkansas... As a 16-year old, Damaschin represented Romania at the 16-U European Team Championships. She was a finalist at the ITF Dema CUP, and supports an impressive WTA world rankings high of 899...Also an academic success as she served as the valedictorian of her high school, Nadia Comaneci.
