WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State men's basketball will host Murray State in a charity scrimmage on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in Charles Koch Arena.
All tickets are $20 and seating is general admission. There will be no reserved seating. Gates open one hour before tipoff. Tickets are available for purchase
online or by contacting the Shocker Athletics Ticket Office. Proceeds will be split between two local community groups, the Wichita Children's Home and Cheese Johnson's UJUMP.
Charles Koch Arena parking will be free and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Shockers and Racers, out of the Missouri Valley Conference, have met only once prior to the October exhibition, all the way back in 1953 when the Shockers won 87-77. Murray State is in year two of the Ryan Miller era. Miller's first season at Murray State was highlighted by a 20-13 overall record, a 12-8 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play and a third-place finish in the league standings, the program's best MVC regular-season finish and most conference wins since joining the league.
The Shockers are slated to host 19 games in Koch Arena this season, the most in a regular season (not including postseason or INTRUST Bank Arena games) in program history. That means Shocker fans get to see more games against better opponents for the same price as in 2025-26. Unbeatable value for a season ticket to watch Wichita's team.

UJUMP is a 501C3 Wichita non-profit junior mentoring and entrepreneurial program founded by former Wichita State All-American Lynbert "Cheese" Johnson. UJUMP focuses on 4th to 7th grade students in the Wichita and Andover school districts. UJUMP is a unique concept that concentrates on the "average" student who gets passing grades but are at risk of being overlooked. Students are selected for the program by school principals with feedback provided by their teachers. UJUMP has many great student success stories as a result of this program.
