Shockers Add In-State Flavor to Non-Conference Schedule with December Matchup vs. K-State

5/29/2026 11:00:00 AM

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State's non-conference schedule added some P4 and Sunflower State flavor with a matchup vs. Kansas State on Dec. 11 in Kansas City.

The Shockers and Wildcats will face off in the T-Mobile Center on Friday, Dec. 11. Time and TV information will be announced at a later date.

While the game will take place in KC, it will count as a home game for K-State. Tickets for the public will be available this fall through the K-State Ticket Office.

The contest will mark the first of two straight trips to the T-Mobile Center in 2026 for Wichita State. One week later, the Shockers return to KC to face Drake on Dec. 18 in the Hall of Fame Classic.

This will be the 36th meeting all time between the Shockers and Wildcats with K-State holding a 23-12 record in the series. Wichita State won the last matchup two years ago in Charles Koch Arena, 84-65.

Wichita State returns 10 letterwinners from last season's team that won 24 games and an appearance in the NIT quarterfinals. The Shockers have increased their win total each year under head coach Paul Mills, who will be entering his fourth season on the sideline. His 58 wins are second most by a Wichita State head coach through his first three seasons.

K-State is under the direction of first-year head coach Casey Alexander. The Wildcats are coming off a 12-20 season in 2025-26.
