WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State women's tennis team is set to head to Lubbock, Texas, for ITA Kickoff Weekend in 2026 after being announced on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Shockers are the No. 3 seed in the region, hosted by Texas Tech. WSU will be joined in Lubbock by the host and one-seed Texas Tech Red Raiders, two-seed Oklahoma State, and four-seed Long Beach State.
 
The top three teams in the region all finished 2025 ranked, with Texas Tech ranked No. 14, Oklahoma State ranked No. 15, and Wichita State ranked No. 60. Long Beach State finished ranked just outside the top 75.
 
Among the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers were one of six teams selected to participate in the coveted weekend of matches, joined by Florida Atlantic, Rice, Tulane, Memphis, and Charlotte.
 
The Shockers will take on the Cowgirls on January 23 at 2:00 PM in Lubbock. The winner of that match advances to take on the winner of Texas Tech and Long Beach State on Saturday, January 24, at 11:00 AM.
 
ITA Kickoff Weekend is played January 23-26 at sites across the country. Each regional champion advances to the ITA Indoor National Championship, beginning on February 6.
