MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The eighth-seeded Wichita State men's tennis team fell to the top-seeded and 23rd-ranked South Florida Bulls in the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference Championship on Friday afternoon.

The Shockers see their season end with a record of 12-13. No. 23 South Florida (20-3) advances to the AAC Semifinals on Saturday.

In doubles, the Shockers came out roaring, taking big leads on all three courts, ultimately cashing in with a 6-2 win
Kristof Minarik and
Ilias Worthington. Soon after,
Vanja Hodzic and
Luke Bracks delivered the doubles clinch with a 6-3 win at court three, giving the Shockers the doubles point.

In singles, things were less favorable for the Shockers as the Bulls asserted control with five first set victories.

Alejandro Jacome fell first, losing 6-1, 6-1 at court three, tying the match at 1-1.

USF took the match lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win over
Amir Milushev at court five.

The Bulls added on with a 6-1, 6-2 win over
Ilias Worthington at court four, putting the Bulls on the brink of victory.

South Florida finished off the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win over
Zaid Al Mashni at court six, clinching and ending the match with a 4-1 score.
