Bowling Seeded Fourth at CUSA Tournament

HARAHAN, La. -- Wichita State enters the 2025 Conference USA Women's Bowling Championship at Colonial Lanes as the #4 seed in the 10-team field. The Shockers will take on #5-seed Arkansas State in Round 2 on Thursday, March 20 beginning at 9 am CT, with live streaming of the event available on ESPN+ here.

The double-elimination tournament begins on Wednesday, March 19 with Round 1, comprised of two play-in matches, and runs through Sunday, March 23 when a champion is crowned. The winner of the tournament receives the CUSA's automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Bowling Championship, which features 11 conference automatic qualifiers and eight at-large selections.

The full seeding list, which is based on the latest RPI rankings, is below:

#1 - Jacksonville State
#2 - Youngstown State
#3 - Vanderbilt
#4 - Wichita State
#5 - Arkansas State
#6 - Stephen F. Austin
#7 - Sam Houston
#8 - Louisiana Tech
#9 - Tulane
#10 - Valparaiso

The tournament is structured in a best-of-three match format. Teams will bowl one traditional five-person game for total pinfall, then five Baker games for total pinfall. If one team wins both the traditional match and baker match, they advance. If the two teams split the standard and baker matches, they will move on to a best-of-seven series of Baker games. If necessary, the second championship match on Sunday will be Baker Best-of-Seven match play only.

The Shockers ended the regular season with a 77-35 overall record, including a pair of tournament wins in NCAA competition. Wichita State was voted #5 in the latest NTCA poll and also ranks fifth in the Power Index Ranking, which includes seven CUSA teams in the top 10.
