ABILENE, Texas – The Wichita State women's tennis team earned a decisive 7-0 victory over the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at Eager Tennis Pavilion.

The Shockers pulled back even at 5-5 on the season with the win. Abilene Christian fell to 2-8 with the loss.

In doubles,
Clara Whitaker teamed with
Sati Aubakirova to win 6-2 at court three to give the Shockers the edge. Later,
Giorgia Roselli and
Xin Tong Wang secured the doubles point for WSU with another 6-2 win, this time at court one, giving the Shockers the 1-0 match lead.

In singles, the Shockers took a big advantage by taking the first set on all six singles courts.

It was
Tatyana Nikolenko striking first, winning 6-1, 6-2 at court five to give the Shockers a 2-0 lead.
Kristina Kudryavtseva won just one minute later 6-2, 6-3 to make the score 3-0.

Wang earned her second win of the day, a 6-2, 6-1 decision at court one to clinch a win for WSU and make the score 4-0.

Playing the match out,
Theodora Chantava recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win and
Anne Knuettel closed out a 6-4, 6-4 win at court six to put the Shockers up 6-0.

Roselli finished off the sweep for the Shockers with a 6-2, 6-4 win at court two, ending the match with a 7-0 score.

Across singles and doubles, the Shockers didn't lose a single set, the first time that's happened in the 2025 season and the first since February 2, 2024, in a 7-0 win at Oral Roberts.
