WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State men's tennis team fell in heartbreaking fashion to the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Friday afternoon at Genesis Rock Road, 4-3.

Texas Tech improved to 4-3 with the win. Wichita State is now 2-4 with the defeat.

Texas Tech came out with high energy in doubles, using a fast start to steal the doubles point from the Shockers. The Red Raiders took the point with a 6-1 win over
Kristof Minarik and
Alejandro Jacome and a tight second win over
Luke Bracks and
Ilias Worthington at court three, 7-5.

In singles, Texas Tech doubled their lead quickly with a 6-2, 6-1 win over
Amir Milushev at court six.

Soon after, both Minarik and Jacome bounced back from their earlier doubles loss with singles wins at courts two and three to tie the match at 2-2.

Later,
Ilias Worthington stormed back in his second set to win his match at court five, 6-3, 7-6 (4), to give the Shockers their first lead of the match.

Heading to third sets on courts one and four to decide the match, the Shockers appeared to be in control with
Vanja Hodzic and Bracks holding leads at the respective courts, but the Shockers couldn't hold on, with Bracks losing 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 at court four, and Hodzic falling 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, to give the Red Raiders the win.
