WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State women's tennis team earned a clean sweep of the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles on Wednesday afternoon at Wichita Country Club.
 
Wichita State now has its first win streak of the year and is now 3-4 overall. Oral Roberts dropped to 1-6 with the defeat.
 
The Shockers took control of the match early, beginning with a pair of dominant doubles victories to secure the opening point. Sati Aubakirova and Anne Knuettel struck first at court three with a 6-1 win, followed by a 6-2 victory by Theodora Chantava and Kristina Kudryavtseva at court two to clinch the point.
 
In singles, Tatyana Nikolenko made quick work of her opponent at court four, winning 6-1, 6-1 to make it 2-0 Shockers.
 
Chantava picked up her second win of the day with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at court two to make it 3-0 WSU.
 
Shortly after, Kudryavtseva clinched the match for the Shockers by grinding out a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win at court three to secure the win.
 
Playing the match out, Knuettel dominated court five, winning 6-0, 6-2 to make it 5-0.
 
Later, Wang pulled off an unbelievable comeback victory. After dropping her first set in a tiebreak 7-6 (1), Wang trailed 5-1 in the second set and all hope seemed lost. From there, Wang won six unanswered games to win the second set 7-5 and force a super tiebreaker. In the super, it was all Wang, as she cruised to a 10-4 win in the super to win her match and make it a 6-0 Shocker lead.
 
Aubakirova closed out the match with a crushing 6-2, 6-0 win at court six to finish off a 7-0 sweep for Wichita State.
 
The Shockers remain home to face the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday, February 7 at 5:00 PM at Wichita Country Club.
