He tells us what it means to play at home and follow in the path of former Shockers such as Xavier McDaniel (his namesake), Aubrey Sherrod, Fred VanVleet, Ron Baker and others. "Wichita State basketball is one big family that stretches across so many generations," he said. Wichita State is on a six-game win streak and faces UAB at 8 p.m. Thursday at Koch Arena.
Bell is a 6-foot-2 senior from Wichita and Andover Central High School. He averages 15.1 points and 3.1 rebounds.

He earned AAC Player of the Week honor on Monday after he scored 24 points in a win at FAU and 23 in Sunday's win over Tulane.

The Shockers are 17-10 and on a six-game win streak. They play UAB at 8 p.m. Thursday at Koch Arena on ESPNU.
