Shockers Ranked Sixth in December NTCA Poll

WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State women's bowling is ranked #6 in the December edition of National Tenpin Coaches Association 2025-2026 Coaches Poll announced Tuesday.

The Shockers earned 1520 points, the sixth of seven Conference USA teams at the top of the poll. Jacksonville State was the commanding #1, earning 43 of 46 first place votes and 1974 points. Vanderbilt moved from #3 to #2 with two first place votes and 1839 points, while Arkansas State leaped from #6 to #3 with 1686. Nebraska dropped back to #4 and Louisiana Tech surged into the top five, climbing from #9. After Wichita State at #6, there is a sizeable gap to #7 Youngstown State of 242 points. Niagara, Mount St. Mary's and Maryville round out the top 10.

WSU owns wins against the #1, #3, #4, #5, #7, and #10-ranked teams.

Wichita State is off to a 39-13 start through the first four tournaments of the season, highlighted by a team win at Sam Houston's Track Kat Klash in Houston. The Shockers also snagged a runner-up finish to open the season at Destination Orlando, in addition to sixth place at the Bulldog Classic and fifth at the Colonial Lanes Classic last time out.

Individually, junior Aleesha Oden has earned two consecutive honors on the CUSA Performer of the Month Team, while Ashtyn Woods and Morgan Kline have also secured All-Tournament Team spots.

The Shockers are off until the calendar flips to 2026, when they will kick off the spring schedule with a trip to the Northeast Classic in New Castle, Delaware, hosted by Sacred Heart January 16-18.
