WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State junior bowler
Aleesha Oden was named to the Conference USAÂ Performers of the Month Team on Wednesday.
The conference recognized the top six statistical performers for the month of October on their first team of the season:
- Jillian Martin - Nebraska (Bowler of the Month)
- Emma Yoder - Jax State
- Aleesha Oden - Wichita State
- Gianna Brandolino - Jax State (Freshman of the Month)
- Erin Klemencic - Jax StateÂ
- Katelyn Abigania - VanderbiltÂ
Oden has parlayed her strong finish to 2024-25 into an impressive showing in the Shockers first two regular season tournaments. The junior from Council Bluffs, Iowa earned an All-Tournament Team selection at the season-opening Destination Orlando, logging a 230.8 average that was highlighted by a 258 in the first game for Wichita State's top individual score of the tournament. Oden followed up that debut with another good outing at the Track Kat Klash, helping the Shockers to a team title with a 198.8 average that was good for 12th in the individual standings.
The southpaw was a vital cog in Wichita State's CUSA Championship team last season, posting a 201.2 average over 18 traditional games and earning Most Outstanding Bowler at the CUSA tournament. She delivered the clinching strike to send Wichita State to the Final Four, as well as the winner to force the if-necessary match in the CUSA Championship against Jacksonville State
Oden and the Shockers are back in action this week at the Bulldog Classic in Fort Worth, Texas. The event begins Friday, November 7 at Cityview Lanes.
