WICHITA, Kan. – Women's tennis head coach
Colin Foster released his squad's 2024 fall schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
"The fall season is so important for development and challenge the players physically and to expose some weaknesses we have," said Foster. "The competition in the fall season is where we find out what we need to work more on and what we're doing well."
The Shockers will open the fall on September 20 where the Shocker netters will play a round robin of opponents at Kansas State at the Wildcats' Mike Goss Tennis Stadium.
At the same time, returning sophomore
Xin Tong Wang will travel to Cary, North Carolina, to participate in the ITA All-American Championships, which begins on September 21st.
The team then gets some time off before travelling to Memphis, Tennessee to compete in the 2024 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Championships at Memphis' Leftwich Tennis Center October 9-14.
The Shockers will next compete in the first ever American Athletic Conference Individual Fall Championships, which will be hosted by Rice at George R. Brown Tennis Center October 24-27 in Houston, Texas. Two Shockers will compete for a singles title, and a doubles pairing will make the journey to Texas to compete for a doubles crown.
The Shockers who don't make the trip to Houston will travel to Jonesboro, Arkansas to compete in a tournament hosted by Arkansas State where the Shockers will play a myriad of opponents October 25-27.
The fall concludes for the Black and Yellow in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the team will compete in dual style matches against multiple opponents November 1-3.
The 2025 spring dual match schedule for the Shockers will be unveiled in mid-November.
