WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State baseball team has earned the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2023-2024 academic year.
 
The award honors high school and college programs coached by ABCA members that post a grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year. It's the seventh straight year the Shockers have earned the honor.
 
WSU tallied a 3.463 cumulative GPA in 2023-2024, placing five student-athletes on the Academic All-District Team.
 
The Shockers were one of five American Athletic Conference programs to earn the award, joining ECU, Tulane, Memphis and Florida Atlantic.
