LAWRENCE, Kan. – The 68th ranked Wichita State women's tennis team fell on the road to the 54th ranked Kansas Jayhawks on Friday afternoon at Jayhawk Tennis Center, 4-0.

The loss for the Shockers (11-8) is their fifth in their last six matches and Kansas (9-12) wins their third in a row.

The Jayhawks took doubles swiftly from the Shockers with wins at doubles courts one and three to give Kansas the early lead.

Singles was over very quickly after the Jayhawks took home swift wins up-and-down the lineup.Â

Anne Knuettel was the first to fall, getting swept 6-0, 6-0 at court four.

Theodora Chantava suffered her first defeat in over two months with a 6-1, 6-2 loss at court three.

Natsumi Kurahashi would be defeated 6-4, 6-0 at court two to end the match in favor of Kansas, 4-0.

The Shockers will head back home for their final regular season match of 2024, where they will face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs tomorrow at 9:00 AM at Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex on senior day.
