Finally Wichita State's offense came to life in the fifth behind back-to-back home runs from Sedlacek and Urban, cutting the deficit to just one, 4-3.
In the sixth Wichita State grabbed its first lead of the night behind four runs. An RBI triple from Wong tied the game at 4-4 and then Sedlacek's second home run, a three-run homer put the Shockers on top, 7-4.
The lead would not make it past the bottom half of the sixth, however. Charlotte answered with seven runs to retake the lead, 11-7.
