SHOCKER NOTES
  • The 2024 campaign for the Shockers is their 15th under the guidance of head coach Colin Foster.
  • The Shockers (9-4) enter the road slate on a four-match win streak.
  • Wichita State is 4-3 in true road matches this season and 2-0 at neutral sites.
  • The Shocker roster is made up of five returners and three international additions in Giorgia Roselli, Anne Knuettel, and Xin Tong Wang.
  • In the fall, freshman Wang advanced to the semifinals of both singles and doubles at the Fighting Illini open in Champaign, Illinois on Nov. 9
  • In team action in the fall, Roselli and sophomore Kristina Kudryavtseva tied for the team lead in singles wins with five each.
  • In doubles, the duo of Theodora Chantava and Clara Whitaker totaled the most doubles wins in the fall with four.

SINGLES NUMBERS
  • Wang and Chantava lead the Shockers in singles wins with eight apiece.
  • Wang has won eight singles matches in a row and has not lost when playing at the No. 2 position this season.
  • Chantava (8-1) has the best singles record of any Shocker. Her lone loss came on February 9 against Kentucky's Ellie Myers in three sets, 2-6, 7-6 (6), 1-0 (10-5).

  • The Shockers enter the weekend after an invigorating victory over 66th ranked Liberty on Wednesday in Palm Springs, California.
  • The Shocker pairings dominated in doubles, sweeping the Flames with a 6-0 win at court two and a 6-3 win at court one.
  • Liberty fought back in singles after going down in the match 3-1, but the Shockers battled back from some steep deficits at courts three and five in the third sets to win the match, 4-2.
NEXT UP
The Shockers will return home from their road gauntlet for a two-week rest before going back out on the road to Memphis, Tennessee for a pair of matches against AAC opponents in UAB on March 30 and against host and currently 54th ranked Memphis the next day.
