WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Wichita State men's tennis team fell in a tough match on Thursday afternoon against the 71
st ranked William and Mary Tribe.

With the loss, the Shockers (3-13) have lost five in a row and William & Mary (8-6) took home their third straight win.

The Shockers combos got off to a great start in doubles, taking a big early lead across all courts and taking victory at court three, 6-2. However, the Tribe would battle back, ultimately winning courts two and three to clinch the point for William & Mary.

In singles, Wichita State's
Marcelo Sepulveda would deliver the opening punch, delivering a sweeping, 6-2, 6-2 win at court three to earn his third singles win of the year and tie the match 1-1.

The Tribe would get the point back soon after with a win in sweeping fashion over WSU's
Ziwen Ju, 7-5, 6-1, at court six to regain the lead.

William & Mary would increase their advantage with a win over
Luke Bracks at court four, making it 3-1 in favor of the Tribe.

Alejandro Jacome would fall at court two in a very tight match, losing 6-4, 7-5 to end the match for William & Mary, 4-1.

Next up, The Shockers will play their final game in North Carolina, heading to Charlotte to face the hometown 49ers on March 16 at 10:00 AM Central.
