The Wichita State women's tennis team will begin their long road spell with a pair of matches in California. The Shockers will play North Texas on Tuesday at 3:00 PM central and #69 ranked Liberty the next day at 3:00 PM.
 
SHOCKER NOTES

• The 2024 campaign for the Shockers is their 15th under the guidance of head coach Colin Foster.
• The Shockers (7-4) enter the road slate on a two-match win streak.
• The Shocker roster is made up of five returners and three international additions in Giorgia Roselli, Anne Knuettel, and Xin Tong Wang.
• In the fall, freshman Wang advanced to the semifinals of both singles and doubles at the Fighting Illini open in Champaign, Illinois on Nov. 9
• In team action in the fall, Roselli and sophomore Kristina Kudryavtseva tied for the team lead in singles wins with five each.
• In doubles, the duo of Theodora Chantava and Clara Whitaker totaled the most doubles wins in the fall with four.
• So far this year, Wang leads the team in total wins with 13.
• The duo of Wang/Natsumi Kurahashi lead the Shockers in doubles wins with six.
• The Shockers have won eight doubles points this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS NORTH TEXAS

• This will be the 19th meeting all-time between North Texas and Wichita State.
• Wichita State leads the series 14-5.
• The Shockers has won five straight over North Texas dating back to 2016.
• Wichita State is 4-1 at neutral sites against North Texas all-time.
• This will be the first meeting between the teams since March 7, 2021.
• This match is the first between the teams at a neutral site since March 10, 2018, when the teams met in Rancho Mirage, California, where the Shockers won 4-2.
• In the fall season, the teams mets in the Tulsa Invitational back on November 4. In Tulsa, the Shockers swept the Mean Green in singles, 6-0 and won at two of three doubles courts.
