Box Score ARLINGTON, Texas – The Wichita State women's tennis team picked up a 4-0 victory against the UT-Arlington Mavericks Thursday afternoon at UTA Tennis Courts.

The Shockers (5-3) have won back-to-back matches for the second time this season and are now 4-2 on the road this year. The Mavericks (4-2) have now lost back-to-back matches.

Colin Foster was happy to get the win today.

"We had some really strong performances today," said Foster. "UTA did well to compete and push us at every court, but we really responded well it was a very sold team win."

The Shockers took doubles swiftly from the Mavericks. The duo of
Giorgia Roselli and
Theodora Chantava improved to 5-1 this year with a quick 6-2 win at court three, followed by a win from
Xin Tong Wang and
Natsumi Kurahashi 6-3 to clinch the point for the yellow and black. This makes it now four-straight matches where the Shockers have won the doubles point.

Despite the 4-0 score line, multiple singles matches were close, but the Shockers collected three singles wins in straight sets to take the match.

Roselli remained hot with a 6
-1, 6-3 victory at court six to make it 2-0 Shockers.

Kurahashi broke her two-match losing streak with a solid win in straight-sets at court one, 6
-3, 6-1.

Chantava roared back from a 1-4 deficit in set two at court five, rattling off five straight points to win the set 6-4, her match 2-0, and clinch a 4-0 win for the Shockers.

The Shockers will stay in the Lone Star State to face the SMU Mustangs tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 PM.
