HOUSTON – Wichita State's
Alejandro Jacome and
Kristof Minarik dropped their doubles semifinal match to No. 1 seeded team on Saturday morning at George R. Brown Tennis Center, ending their run at the 2024 AAC Individual Championships.
Â
After taking down fifth-seeded Pablo Alemany and Harry Rock of Memphis on Friday, the fourth-seeded Shocker duo could not keep up the momentum on Saturday, falling in the doubles semifinals to Charlotte's Vasco Prata and Matias Iturbe in a tight match, 7-5, 6-3.
Â
The loss ends the Shockers' chance to reach the ITA Conference Master's Tournament, coming up one match short of playing for the AAC Doubles Championship.
