WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State's volleyball match at SMU on Sunday, October 1 has been selected to air nationwide on ESPNU. Originally scheduled for a 1:00 pm CST first serve, the match will now get underway at noon.

The most recent meeting between the Shockers and Mustangs also aired on ESPNU last season, a thrilling five-set victory for Wichita State on November 23. The Shockers trailed two sets to one and 17-15 late in the fourth set, but rallied for the win as six different players recorded six or more kills. Dallas native Lauren McMahon contributed two crucial terminations in the deciding fifth set to help WSU to the victory.

The Shockers open the 2023 season with a home exhibition match on Thursday, August 17 against Oklahoma. The regular season opener is Friday, August 25 against Notre Dame as part of the Under Armour Challenge in Lubbock, Texas.
