ORLANDO, Fla. – Wichita State fell 4-3 to Temple in its regular season finale Tuesday at the USTA National Campus.

The Owls (19-4) clinched the doubles point, sweeping the courts, to go up 1-0 going into singles.

The Shockers (11-15) came out in singles with four first-set wins, but Temple increased its lead to 3-0 with straight-set victories courts one and two.

Orel Ovil put the Shockers on the board with a 7-6 (3), 6-2 win at No. 3 singles, and
Alejandro Jacome brought the match score to 3-2 with his 15
th singles win of the season, winning 6-1, 7-6 (5) at court four.

After winning his first set at No. 6,
Luke Bracks got shut out in the second, and Temple's Hussein El Tawil capitalized on the opportunity, clinching the match for the Owls, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.

Playing out the match,
Alex Richards held out against his opponent, winning 6-3 in the first set and winning the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (6) to bring the match to a close.
