ORLANDO, Fla. – The Wichita State men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to No. 57 UCF Friday at the USTA National Campus.

Alejandro Jacome picked up the lone win for the Shockers at No. 4 singles, defeating No. 84-ranked Liam Branger, 7-6(8-6), 6-1, to improve to 12-4 and claim his first victory over a rarnked opponent.

Misha Kvantaliani and
Kristof Minarik joined forces for the first time at No. 1 doubles, putting up a fight against UCF's No. 30 duo of Lleyton Cronje and Bogdan Pavel, but ultimately fell 6-4.

With the 1-0 advantage heading into singles, UCF claimed three-consecutive straight-set wins on the top three courts to clinch the match. Playing the matches out, Jacome won at No. 4,
Luke Bracks fell 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 and
Alex Richards won his second set to send his match to a third, dropping the tiebreaker 10-3.
