ABOUT THE SHOCKERS:

Three of Wichita State's four losses have come against current ITA top-40 foes. That includes a pair of setbacks last weekend in Stillwater against No. 35 Oklahoma State (4-0) and No. 38 South Carolina (4-1).

Freshman Kristina Kudryavtseva (6-1 in singles duals) rides a team-best four-match winning streak. She's split time this year between Nos. 3-5 this spring.

Against South Carolina, graduate student Lingwei Kong became the third different Shocker to take a turn atop the singles lineup and freshman Theodora Chantaca improved to 6-2 with a victory at No. 5.

ABOUT K-STATE:

Six of the nine Wildcat defeats have come against teams that are ranked in this week's ITA top-75.

This is meeting No. 58 a series that stretches back to the mid-1970s. The teams have played at least once in every spring since 1996. KSU has taken the last four installments to grab a 30-27 lead.

WSU fell 6-1 last March in Manhattan while playing with just five entries. Harriet Hamilton earned the lone Shocker point at No. 4 singles, winning a marathon super tiebreaker, 17-15.

ABOUT OKLAHOMA:

Reigning ITA national coach of the year Audra Cohen returns her entire top-six from last year's NCAA runner-up squad, which won a program-record 32 duals along with the Big 12 regular season title.

Picked fourth in the ITA preseason poll, OU is out to an 8-5 start, though all five of those losses have come against current top-10 programs. The Sooners downed current No. 28 Texas Tech and No. 11 Duke during a run to the ITA national indoor quarterfinals.

Dana Guzman is 82nd in the most-recent ITA singles ratings and a pair of Sooner doubles teams are 12th and 36th.

OU has won 27 straight home duals going back to the 2020-21 season.
