Clark Candiotti has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday.
The junior righty picked up his first win as a Shocker in Friday's 8-4 victory against Stetson, establishing new season highs with eight strikeouts over 6.2 innings of work while holding the Hatters without an earned run on just three hits.
Candiotti worked around a first inning jam and got stronger as the day went along, highlighted by a stretch from the end of the third through the seventh in which he retired 12 of 13 Stetson hitters with four strikeouts.
For the season, the Grayson College transfer is now 1-2 with a 4.05 ERA and 19 strikeouts over 20.0 innings. The native of Scottsdale, Arizona has walked just four, a strikeout-to-walk ratio of nearly 5:1.
