WICHITA – Texas Tech defeated the Shockers, 4-0, Monday at Genesis Health Clubs.
 
The Red Raiders (3-4) claimed the doubles point with a 6-3 victory at court two followed by a 6-4 win at three. Kristof Minarik and Alex Richards had battled back from down 4-0 but left the No. 1 doubles match unfinished at 3-5.
 
The Shockers (4-5) won three of the six first sets in singles. Serving underhand, Minarik pulled off a 7-6(5) first-set win at court one before giving up the second set 2-6. Kvantaliani and Jacome also won their first sets at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. All three matches were left unfinished after Texas Tech won in straight sets at courts two, five and six.
 
Wichita State returns to its home courts to take on Denver on Sunday, Feb. 12.
