Maryville, Mo. – The Wichita State cheer and dance teams traveled to Maryville, Missouri to participate in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) and National Dance Alliance (NDA) summer camps on the campus of Northwest Missouri State.

The Shockers' dance team brought home the NDA Spirit Stick, earning a Super rating and placing second overall in the Team Dance Performance and Game Day Dance Performance categories. The team also claimed the Best All-Around Award and Most Collegiate Award and earned a gold paid bid to the 2023 NDA Collegiate Dance Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida, where qualifying teams compete from April 5-9, 2023.

Destanee Brigman-Reed and Lauren O'Donnell were both named NDA All-Americans, making them eligible to be invited to perform at Special Events across the country.

The Shockers' cheer squad also found success at camp, coming away with the NCA Spirit Stick, along with the Most Improved Award and earning a silver paid bid to the NCA Collegiate Cheer Championship in Daytona Beach. Individually, WuShock received an All-American title for outstanding spirit.
