Shockers’ Win Streak Reaches 11 after Series Sweep of ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Wichita State hit five more home runs on Sunday to sink the ECU Pirates, 8-1, completing the series sweep.

Wichita State (31-13, 13-2) extended its winning streak to 11 with three straight conference series sweeps. The Shockers outscored the Pirates 38-6 over the three-game series. Over their last seven games it's 90-11.

Zoe Jones left Greenville with four home runs on the weekend following a pair of two-run home runs. She finished the day 2-for-4 with the two home runs and four RBI.

Addison Barnard hit her 30th home run of the season, becoming just the 14th player in NCAA Division I history to hit 30 home runs in a single season. It's tied for the 7th most in a single season in NCAA history.

Sydney McKinney and Lauren Mills both hit their 12th home runs of the season in the contest. Lauren Lucas scored three times, while going 1-for-2.

Alison Cooper (8-2) allowed just one run on six hits in the complete game victory. She walked only one and struck out a season-high seven.

Wichita State didn't wait around to find the scoring column on Sunday. Two batters in, Barnard drilled No. 30 over the wall in left-center. Following a Lucas walk, Jones drove a two-run shot to almost the exact same spot to make it 3-0.

The Shockers would add a single run in the second and third innings behind McKinney's 12th home run of the season and a Lauren Mills bases loaded walk.

Jones added another two-run homer in the fourth and a Mills solo shot in the fifth made it 8-0.

ECU avoided the run-rule in the fifth on an RBI single.
