DALLAS, Texas – The Wichita State men's tennis team dropped a close one to SMU, 4-2, on day two of a three-match weekend in Dallas.

The No. 31 Mustangs got out to an early 1-0 lead, clinching the doubles point with wins at courts one and two.
Nicolas Acevedo and
Ray Lo were up, 5-4, at No. 3 when play was halted.

Alex Richards tied the match at 1-1 with the lone straight-set victory of the match, winning 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5. Â
Kristof Minarik gave the Shockers a 2-1 lead with a 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory at court one to earn his 13
th win of the season and fourth at No. 1. Â The Mustangs tied it back up at 2-2 with a win at court two and then regained the lead, winning 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 at No. 3. Jordi Redelijk clinched the match for SMU, winning in three sets at court six.

The Shockers play their final match in Dallas on Sunday at 11 a.m. against Temple.
