Box Score MESA, Ariz. – The Wichita State men's tennis team defeated Tulane, 4-3, in the first round of the Arizona State Spring Break Tournament at the Kiwanis Tennis Center. The win propels the Shockers into the semifinals to face Princeton.

The No. 72 Shockers (9-6) took a 1-0 lead with 7-6 doubles wins at No. 2 and No. 1. The No. 62 Green Wave (4-7) tied it up at 1-1 with a singles win at court two, but
Orel Ovil regained the lead for Wichita State with a 6-0, 6-4 victory at No. 3. The Shockers dropped a point at court 6, but
Kristof Minarik picked up a three-set win at one to put Wichita State back on top, 3-2. Tulane fought back to tie the match at 3-3 with a win at No. 4.

The match came down to
Ray Lo and Rafael De Alba's battle at court five, where Lo won the first set 6-2, but fell 3-6 in the second set. Lo came out on top with a 7-5 victory in set three to clinch the match for the Shockers.
