FORT WORTH, Texas – The Wichita State men's tennis team took down Portland 4-1 on day two of the ITA Kickoff Weekend.

Nicolas Acevedo and
Luka Mrsic claimed the first win of the day at No. 1 doubles, 6-4. After dropping No. 2 doubles, the Shockers (4-1) prevailed at court three with a 6-4 victory by
Kristof Minarik and
Alex Richards.

Wichita State fell at No. 1 singles, but came back to win three straight matches to clinch the win over the Pilots (0-2).
Kristof Minarik picked up his fifth-straight singles win at No. 3 to improve to 5-0 on the season. Mrsic followed with a win at No. 4 and Acevedo earned the clinching point for the Shockers at court two.

Wichita State hits the road again Friday, Feb. 4 for a matchup with Oklahoma in Norman at 6 p.m.
