WICHITA, Kan. - No. 34 Wichita State men's tennis won its first match of the weekend be beating No. 48 SMU, 4-1, for the series sweep of the Mustangs at the Coleman Tennis Complex on Friday.
 
Doubles
Marius Frosa and Murkel Dellien impressed in their first match since jumping back into the rankings at No. 72. The pair had to fight back after SMU drew the match at three all, but the All-American duo was able to win the next three games to pick up their fourth straight match with a victory over Chakravarthi/Vrbsky, 6-3.
 
Orel Ovil and Luka were able to finish their first match since dropping a decision to Creighton, winning 6-2 over Bianchi/Vaise.
 
Singles
Murkel Dellien got the party started for the Shockers with his eighth-straight win. He won at No. 1 over Chakravarthi, 6-3, 6-2.  Ray Lo finished immediately after with a second set sweep of Redelijik at No. 6, 6-4, 6-0.
 
The Mustangs were encroaching on the Shockers by picking up a win at No. 3 and forcing third sets on line two and five. Nicolas Acevedo ended all hope of a Mustang upset by winning a three-set dual on No. 4, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.

Another ranked matchup awaits the Shockers. The team faces No. 28 Pepperdine on Easter Sunday at noon at the Coleman Tennis Complex.
