DENTON, Texas - Wichita State women's tennis snapped an eight-match losing streak and inched closer to ending their 10-match road swing by defeating the North Texas Mean Green, 4-0, on Sunday.

"Playing our seventh match in eleven days on the road is a tough ask. I thought we played well at SMU on Friday and were just a bit flat yesterday against a motivated UTA team that we've had our way with over the years. To bounce back and finish this trip with a win obviously feels good, but for them all to play with belief is even better. Marta and Sarvi continue to play well at the top two positions and bounced back from a tough doubles loss to get two points on the board. Overall, we had all six first sets and withstood their push in the second sets and it was a complete team win."

Doubles
The doubles point was won due to the effort shown by the lower duos. Jessie Zheng and Ting-ya Hsu won first at No. 2, 7-5, and Natsumi Kurahahshi and Alexandra Lazarova shrugged off a two-match skid to win the point, 6-4.
 
Singles
Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva set the tone for the Shockers in singles. The senior, who has played a number of unfinished matches this season, picked up the first singles win with a  6-1, 7-5 victory at the top.
 
Lazarova was able to break a six-match losing streak by beating Sophia Hummel, 7-5, 6-3. Marta Bellucco won the clinching point at No. 2, 7-6(4), 6-4, to put the Shockers back in the win column.

The duo of No. 23 Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva and Marta Bellucco won the only doubles match for the Shockers on Saturday. They swept the Maverick duo to improve their record to 8-3.
 
Singles
The Mavericks came out motivated in singles. Their three points all came in straight sets. Saidhujaeva won her first set at No. 1, but was heading into a third set when play was halted. Bellucco was up 4-2 in the second and trying to force a third set and Ting-ya Hsu was trying to do the same at No. 5, up 5-3 in the second.
