3/27/2021 6:06:00 PM

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TULSA, Okla. - Wichita State women's tennis won its first match in Tulsa by sweeping Oral Roberts, 4-0, to get their first three-match win streak of the season, but they then lost to AAC foe Tulsa, 4-2, the next day at the Case Tennis Center.

Up Next
The Shockers head back on the road to take on Kansas City and Creighton on April 6 in Kansas City, Mo. at the Plaza Tennis Center.

Oral Roberts

Doubles
Both Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva/Marta Bellucco and Ting-ya Hsu/Jessie Zheng bettered their win streaks to three with victories over the Golden Eagles. Saidhujaeva and Bellucco won at the top, 6-2, and Hsu/Zheng bested the ORU two's, 6-1.

Singles
An ORU player was forced to drop out of singles and no eligible player was available to play, so ORU shifted their players up a spot and defaulted at No. 6, giving the Shockers a free point.

The two sides played to clinch, and Jessie Zheng and Ting-ya Hsu wasted no time in achieving that. Hsu won at No. 3, 6-1, 6-4, and Zheng won her third in a row at No. 5, 6-1, 6-2.

Tulsa

Doubles
This proved to be a very tight doubles point for the Shockers. Saidhujaeva/Bellucco fell at the top to No. 27 Okalova/Ploner, 6-4, and the lower two duos were able to show their grit with two tiebreak wins. Alexandra Lazarova and Natsumi Kurahashi won first with a 7-2 tiebreak at No. 3 and Jessie Zheng and Ting-ya Hsu followed with a 7-5 tiebreak at No. 2.

Singles
The Golden Hurricane were able to fight back in singles, as the Shockers were only able to pick up a win at No. 4 before the match was clinched by Tulsa.

Natsumi Kurahashi picked up a very nice win over Tulsa's Ploner, 6-2, 6-1. Marta Bellucco went unfinished in singles after losing a close tiebreak to Monofort, 7-6 (7-5), 2-1.
