WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State women's tennis heads off to Manhattan, Kan. to take on Kansas State on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Mike Goss Tennis Stadium.
Shocker Notables
- The senior duo of Marta Bellucco and Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva came in at No. 23 in the ITA Preseason Doubles Rankings. This is their fourth straight appearance in the rankings and highest appearance yet. They are currently 4-2 on the season.
- Freshman Jessie Zheng leads the Shockers in singles wins with a 5-2 record at No. 4 and 5. She most recently beat Kansas' Tiffany Lagarde, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).
Scouting the Competition
Kansas State (2-2)
- The Wildcats are coming off their home-opening weekend where they beat both Drake and Denver.
- The No. 46 duo of Maria Linares and Karine-Marion Job went 2-0 last weekend, including a win over Denver's No. 36 Chang/Melville.
- The teams last met last season and the Wildcats picked up a win in Wichita, 5-2. The all-time series slightly favors the Wildcats, 28-27, and Coach Foster holds a 6-5 record against K-State,
